West Virginia is the Mountain State. And where mountains exist, there is mountain biking. There is a wide variety of trails to venture out on, all with varying degrees of difficulty. City, county, and state parks all have biking trails. There is also a good number of rail trails, which are generally flatter, wider, and smoother - great for families. It seems like where every you go in this state, there is a good chance of a bike trail nearby. I've gone mountain biking after work several times, since a park with great trails is close to home. I'm not talking leisurely strolls, either. Single tracks, steep ups and downs, mud, switchbacks, you name it, all close by. Uncrowded, rugged, and beautiful - what mountain biking is meant to be. Here are some WV mountain biking links, including places, clubs, etc... I will post more as we find new trails and info.
